September 20, 1999 My first thought upon hearing the title track was, "What the hell is this?" Luckily, the tunes get much better after this first track. Lajon Witherspoon improves on his already melodic vocals, but the lyrics are many times meaningless. The songs are short, and for good reason - most of them sound a bit worn out after a couple of minutes. This is especially true for "Home" and "Feel So." There are some very good songs on the disc, too. The best, in my opinion, is their first single, "Denial." Some people say that "Licking Cream" the best of the disc, but I disagree. Its vocals were very poorly written and the duet with Skunk Anansie's Skin makes my skin crawl. Home has much more bass than the first disc. And drummer Morgan Rose makes his presence better known. But this album just doesn't kick ass all the way through like the first one did. It was very well produced, but the song writing could definitely use some work. And all of you who said that the self-titled album sounded like Korn, you were wrong. This is the album that sounds much more like Korn. It's better, though, since Lajon can sing much better than Jonathan Davis. I didn't care all that much for Home at first, but the more I listen to it, the more I like it. I had very high expectations from one of my favorite bands, and they were almost, but not quite, filled. Home deserves 4.5 of 5 stars.
